Baltic Sea Day 31.8.2024

The Baltic Sea Day - What is it?

The Baltic Sea Day, launched and coordinated by the John Nurminen Foundation, is celebrated every year on the last Thursday in August with various rallies and events. The goal of the theme day is to highlight important marine themes, and encourage people to take concrete action for the Baltic Sea. The Day celebrates the versatility and immeasurable value of the Sea. Moreover, the celebration seeks to disseminate information on marine nature, culture, and history. In 2024 the Baltic Sea Day is celebrated on August 29th. www.balticseaday.fi

Laguuni will take part on this day by organising an plogging -themed event!

Itämeri Plogging will once again end with a big event on the Baltic Sea Day on the thursday 29th of August. You can participate in our event for free by cleaning the environment while paddling with a kayak or SUP-board or just by walking. We will have cleaning events organised in all our spots: Keilaniemi in the mid-day, Hietsu and Mustikkamaa in the early evening.

We are gonna give a 50euros gift card as a prize for the participant that collects the biggest amount of trash.

Participating will be free of charge and you have to book your spot in advance. We are going to open the booking calenders on thursday 22nd of August.
