Join the Baltic Sea Day community cleanup event!
Baltic Sea Day is an annual celebration launched by the John Nurminen Foundation in honor of the sea. The aim of the day is to inspire people to enjoy our home sea and to take concrete actions and make promises for its well-being.⁠

On Thursday 28.8.25, the summer-long Baltic Sea Plogging culminates in a community cleanup day! Participation in the cleanup trips is free, and all necessary equipment is included in the reservation. All you need to do is arrive on time with weather-appropriate clothing and a cheerful attitude. During the day, there will also be a lighthearted competition: the person who collects the most trash wins a €50 gift card to Laguuni!

Cleaning trip with Espoo's Baltic Sea rowboat on Baltic Sea Day

Take your seat in a rowing boat and go to clean the baltic sea. The rowboat can fit 2-3 persons and you will have all the necessary gear for rowing and cleaning. The rowboat also have magnets to "fish" some metal trash from the bottom of the sea!

The Baltic Sea Day event at Laguuni’s Keilaniemi location starts at 17:00, and the cleanup trip with row boat is from 17:30 to 19:30 on Thursday 28.8. The rowing boat is suitable for 2-3 persons. Please register according to the number of boats.

Age limits and requirements

  • For all water activities, participants must be able to swim.

  • For kayaking and SUP:

    • Under 15: only with an adult present

    • Ages 15–18: with guardian’s consent

  • Minimum age for the water park: 6 years

    • A child aged 6–12 must be accompanied by an adult guardian, who must supervise them continuously (at least from the shore). One adult may supervise 1–3 children at a time at their own discretion.

    • Children over 12 may enter the park independently, with guardian’s consent.

  • By registering, you commit to following the given instructions and rules.
